A Sunset Calm in the Bay of Fundy / 40" x 30" / Unframed rolled in tube

This is a fantastic painting can actually hang this large painting in a smaller room than any of the impressionist paintings that I have purchased. This painting uses a lot thinner oil paint than the impressionist such as Monet or Post impressionist such as Van Gogh. I bought large paintings from another company and they stunk so I threw paintings out and kept frame and stretcher bars and bought this painting and stretched myself and was a good experience and Overstockart is such a better product than the competition. All in all I would say buy this painting for large room or small room and you will be happy with purchase. Pros: Nothing more to say than it is a very good painting.

I love the scene of this painting, the horizon extending towards the edge of the ocean with a setting sun, the calm water with a glowing reflection of sun light imparts a sense of serenity and tranquility. The clean lines of the sails and the ship stand against a bright blue sky. Remind me of the coastal vista of my childhood of the sea after a storm. The only reason I did not give it a 5 star is the pain surface is very flat, almost appears to be a print instead of an oil painting. I wish it had more texture. Pros: peaceful scene, clean lines, brightness Cons: very flat paint surface makes it appear almost like a print
