24" X 36" Air, Iron, and Water were originally painted in 1937 by Robert Delaunay. This piece follows the cubist movement style with the exception of the color pallet used. While other cubist painters were using darker colors, Delaunay stood apart from his contemporaries by using warm and inviting colors. The piece was created while Delaunay was living in France, but this piece was not part of the series the artist did of the Eiffel Tower from 1922 to 1928. What separates this composition from the compositions he created in his earlier series is the addition of statue-like figures depicted under the structure. The original is currently part of The Isreal Museum collection in Jerusalem. Our reproduction offers the same attention to detail as well as a warm color pallet as the original.
