Train, by Edward Mitchell Bannister was originally painted between 1875 - 1880. Bannister depicts a train cutting though a rural landscape with a calming stream below. This familiar scene of the 19th century was painted to remind us of the industrialization disrupting the natural beauty of the majestic landscape. Bannister was, as well many of his fellow painters, feared the impact this may have on our nation. Today the original is currently at the Smithsonian American Art Museum.

The frame was very nice, I'm usually very impressed with the artwork as well but not so much this time! I definitely don’t want to insult the artist as I normally love her work but this tends to look paint by numbers cheap for some reason.
