Renoir's Tulips in a Vase captures the true essence of Impressionistic style where the overall perception of the subject is more important than the realistic value. Born to a working class family, Pierre-Auguste Renoir began his artistic apprenticeship painting porcelain at age 13. While he would visit the Louvre to study the French masters during his early years, his formal training began with Swiss artist Charles Gleyre. Unlike many of his fellow Impressionists, the official Salon in Paris occasionally accepted his work for exhibition, beginning in 1864 and continuing through 1870, and once again in 1879. During the period in between, he helped to organize the first Impressionist exhibition in 1874, which was a home for those artists rejected by the Salon. It included the paintings of fellow luminaries such as Degas, Cezanne, Pissarro and Renoir's friend and frequent collaborator, Monet. Because they denied traditional rules of academic art, these artists were rejected in the early days of the Impressionistic movement. Their unique perspective toward style went misunderstood for many years until the public finally agreed that Impressionism was a highly innovative and fresh expression of artistic value and vision. More concerned with the overall perception rather than fine details, Impressionists used color and composition as well as other techniques to develop and nurture this new way of painting.

We have approximately one hundred paintings and prints in our home, each print signed and numbered and each original, a one-only signed original. I've never before bought a "COPY." But when i came across this remarkable Renoir, which in the original is surely valued at $millions, i just had to have it. So... I bought my first "Copy." Very inexpensively. indeed, beautifully framed, as well. I see it every day and love having it. it's truly an excellent reproduction of the original and i find i'm not at all bothered by it being a "Copy." Rather, it's a most excellent "Copy" and we're so pleased with having and viewing it, we've since bought several additional , otherwise unaffordable masterpiece-copies, as well. -- All from Overstock, of course. Now we're planing on giving some of these remarkable copies as gifts. Pros: Everything Cons: Nothing

I put this one in my dinning room. It is very simple and beautiful. The only problem was that I had to return the painting twice; the first time because I did not realized that the frame I pick wasen't real wood and the painting was not centralized appropriately, the second time because there were certain areas in the painting were I can see the canvas. [...] 100% satisfaction policy is superb. Pros: Visually Pleasing
